I'm starting to dislike google as a search engine more and more.
I know it's sad.
But it doesn't respect my search terms litteraly anymore.
Anyone would suggest me a different search engine ?
Something that doesn't assume you're commiting typos (even if i do) or doesn't try to remove spaces in your query, and doesn't trust your browser language more than your search engine language settings ?

Lets write our own booze and blackjack search engine !
with regex fulltextsearch.

I'll file the task to Unhandled
The geeks shall inherit the properties and methods of object earth.

I've gotten into the habit of enclosing even single words in quotes to get the results I want.

For example googling for login will give you results of both login and log in while googling for "login" will not return hits for log in.
Doesn't work the other way around though; searching "log in" will still return results with login.

I'm also using www.google.com/ncr which doesn't base the results on your geographical location.

You could try writing a custom frontpage that takes the input, encases it in quotes to suit how you like to use the engine, could be quite a cool project Smile

Quote from Gizmore

... with regex fulltextsearch.

Old thread, but this I would really like. Google's advanced search modifiers (+,-,inurl:,site:,etc.) help sometimes, and I don't know of a better engine, but true regex would be a whole new level of amazing.
