Comments on SPOJ

In case you missed it from the news, here is a link to the scoring faq on SPOJ:

At present points are awarded to each user as follows:

* for solving classical problem p: 80/(40+number_of_people_who_have_solved p) points.

* for a top score in any challenge: 3 points,
* for any lower score in a challenge: (user's_score relative_to_the top_score) points.

So to earn good points on the site you need to solve some of the harder classical problems, or participate in the challenges / contests.

Also i like to note that currently only integer values are submitted in the score scripts, but we will probably change that to more accurate values.

Very impresive to have SPOJ in the network. But I would like to ask one question regarding ranking on Wechall. It looks the site has almost 2000 challenges (at least this number is shown in the list of sites), but in the details for e.g. Ruslan there is shown he has solved 296/1091. Are the numbers correct?

Edit: The numbers seems correct - on the ranking details it is not about number of challanges but about user score on site.
The equation is User score / Max score, which for some sites can correspond with number of solved challenges, but for SPOJ it is different.

I tried to link to this site but I get an error message saying "Cannot find the username email combo". I am pretty sure the supplied details are correct.

Make sure you use the onsitename/onsitemail combination.
"onsite" means the value you use on the site you wanna link.

WeChall uses "onsite" credentials to link, and this way the user credentials can differ among the sites.
onsitemails are discarded after linking process and don´t even occur in the logs.

Yes I used onsitename/onsitemail combination similar to the other site that I have sucessfully linked here. Would you advise contacting SPOJ for this problem?

Please PM me your combination, so i can check some stuff.

I could not link my SPOJ account to WeChall.
It says " GWF_HTTP: 28 - connect() timed out!" and
"The Username/EMail combination does not seem to exist on SPOJ.",
even though I used the correct username / email combo from SPOJ.

I changed my email for my SPOJ account a couple of weeks ago,
so it's not the same as the one I signed up with, but I think that should not be a problem.

It might be related to the fact that SPOJ is now spoj.com, not spoj.pl as it used to be.

Thanks for notice, it should work fine again.
